How did you get involved in quality management?
I have been involved in quality for more than two decades now, since my first job way back in 1998. I found the role to be very interesting and rewarding, and ever since then I have focused my career on becoming a quality professional with expertise in auditing and management systems consulting.
What are your specialisms?
I specialize in auditing, training, design and implementation of management systems, and setting up an effective and efficient quality assurance function within companies. I also have a Six Sigma Green belt.
The quality management systems I implement include: IATF 16949. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100, VDA 6.3, and more.
The industry that I would say I specialize in would be that of the automotive, and creating and implementing quality management systems for these businesses.
What is your favourite thing about quality management?
I find the most rewarding part of my job as an auditor the knowledge and evidence that I am adding value into business quality systems through improvement actions.
What does a typical day of work look like for you?
Every day is different, as it involves dealing with a variety of situations across different functions and industries as well. What doesn’t change is that every day I am always looking for where I can contribute to improvements and add value in the business system.
What interests you about becoming a mentor?
I feel that becoming a mentor will enable me to contribute to society by giving back what I have learnt, through my last two decades of Quality Excellence, auditing and freelance consulting experience.
What do you think the next big thing will be in quality?
Digitalisation within quality is the most upcoming thing for various industries, which will involve the ability to implement more accurate and error free controls for product, process, and system implementation.
